CHAMELEON

Lara, the Chameleon

I am Lara, a third-year student at the Savannah College of Art and Design, pursuing a major in User Experience Design and a minor in Graphic Design. I like to envision myself as a chameleon adorned with the pigments of diverse experiences. Having resided in Korea, Colombia, and Panama, I have cultivated a multifaceted identity enriched by linguistic abilities in Korean, English, and Spanish. These diverse locales have broadened my intellectual horizons, exposing me to a kaleidoscope of thought patterns and worldviews. Throughout my academic journey, from delving into UX research and UX/UI design to exploring design management and industrial design, my color palette has continuously evolved and enriched.

Embracing Multicultural Hues

My adaptive lifestyle across Korea, Colombia, and Panama has not only honed my linguistic prowess but also expanded my cultural lexicon. Each locale served as a canvas upon which I absorbed the nuances of its language, customs, and traditions. From the structured elegance of Korean to the rhythmic cadence of Spanish, each linguistic acquisition represents a brushstroke in the tapestry of my identity. This has been a stable foundation in adapt me to the adaptive environment.

A Tapestry of Artistic Exploration

In tandem with my cultural odyssey, my academic pursuits at the Savannah College of Art and Design have enriched my artistic palette. Majoring in User Experience Design and minoring in Graphic Design and Advertising and Branding Art Direction, I have delved into cross-functional work settings.

Project (design) management, UX research, UI design, coding, prototyping, rendering, industrial design, business strategy, package design, book layout design...the list goes on.

Each discipline has imbued me with a deeper understanding of form, function, and aesthetics, allowing me to craft immersive user experiences and visually compelling designs.

Adaptive Resilience

Navigating through diverse educational systems and societal landscapes has instilled in me a resilience akin to that of the chameleon. Whether adjusting to new environments, overcoming academic challenges, or embracing cultural diversity, I approach each experience with an open mind and unwavering determination. This adaptive resilience not only fuels my personal growth but also underscores my commitment to excellence in every endeavor.

Chameleon Spirit

My journey mirrors the adaptability and resilience of the chameleon. As the chameleon seamlessly blends into its surroundings, I have embraced the fluidity of cultural immersion and artistic exploration, enriching my palette with every experience. As I continue my academic pursuits at SCAD, I remain committed to embodying the spirit of the chameleon, adapting to the evolving landscape of design with authenticity. With each new opportunity, I eagerly anticipate absorbing new colors into my palette, further enriching my journey, and contributing to the vibrant tapestry of design.
